This is the first beta
version of AVG Anti-Rootkit, a tool designed to detect and
remove hidden objects, so called Rootkits, from your
computer. It can even remove Trojans and Rootkits that are
hiding inside NTFS Alternate Data Streams.
Removing rootkits without
compromising system integrity is particularly challenging
and needs to be done with care. Our free software, Sophos
Anti-Rootkit, finds and removes any rootkit that is hidden
on your computer.
Lavasoft is pleased to launch
a new Project ECO Tool, the ARIES Rootkit Remover, to get
rid of the rootkit developed by First4Internet used by Sony
BMG to hide their DRM (Digital Rights Management) software.

root kit detection utility. It runs on Windows NT 4 and
higher and its output lists Registry and file system API
discrepancies that may indicate the presence of a user-mode
or kernel-mode rootkit. RootkitRevealer successfully detects
all persistent rootkits published at http://www.rootkit.com/,
including AFX, Vanquish and HackerDefender (note:
RootkitRevealer is not intended to detect rootkits like Fu
that don't attempt to hide their files or registry keys).
